To obtain this status a city has to create a 24-hour warning point, to develop technics to alert the public effectively and to get warnings of tsunamis, to develop a plan and to do emergency exercises and finally, to get people informed through the education of the community[2]. With only over 9 000 citizens, this two miles square city is welcoming[3]. Indian Harbour Beach is located between the Atlantic Ocean and the Indian River Lagoon, also known as Banana River for paddlers. Also, there are several parks, a beach and islands that create a tropical atmosphere. Moreover, there are facilities that help to increase the local economy and to provide employments for the citizens as well. Fauna consists mainly of lizards, manatees, sea gulls, fish and cockroaches. In the same idea, flora is composed of different kinds of palms, pines and tropical flowers. More precisely, the Pines Resort [4], the place where we will stay, is a site where many paddlers from around the world go to train during the winter break.
